He has a very bad naming scheme bad :-), so it is hard to find a bunch of pics related to one topic together.

Should talk to him about it but I really suspect that he contributes to the National Geographic every now and thentrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02896403156237442180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15827537.post-1137167778775715102006-01-13T21:26:00.000+05:302006-01-13T21:26:00.000+05:30Ashok, I had been to Madurai recently. Inspired by various song sequences (Kannalane in particular), my friend and I visited the Mahal.

To say that it was appalling is an understatement. I admire Gehry's works as 'de-construction' is my fav style.

No, There r not just 2 types of women in general :-) I merely classified 2 types of my client's wives.

No. everybody has just one to begin with :-)ashokhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07151604896442505084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15827537.post-1136514485915851302006-01-06T07:58:00.000+05:302006-01-06T07:58:00.000+05:30Stata which is one of my fave. places now but did...
Stata which is one of my fave. places now but did not really like that much at first sight. I really couldn't believe elephants were going down that street!

also are these two types of wives the only type of women in Madurai :-). The king had 2 wives to begin with right? No? The first kind completely dominate the discussions and gave me a very hard time. Most of my best designs were gooffed up by this kind. The husband will understand the logic of my argument but will stay helplessly silent in front of his wife. The second type is where the wife does'nt show interest in the concept stages. And once everything is done and finished will then open the mouth with silly criticisms...The queen may have been the latter kind..but i must admit that her comment was not silly!ashokhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07151604896442505084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15827537.post-1136402634799386652006-01-05T00:53:00.000+05:302006-01-05T00:53:00.000+05:30Have you been to Hampi, Ashok - the queen certainl...Have you been to Hampi, Ashok - the queen certainly had a point! It looks like the elephant stables there. (I think she should be from the Vijaynagar area)

And I doubt Nayagar took the criticism so badly. All new fangled buildings have that kind of impact on the uninitiated.
When the stata center designed by Gehry was inaugurate across the street we thought it looked like a house of cards which will come crashing down at any minute. It took us a while to appreciate its beauty.

No man at any place or time (may be now in Afghanistan it happens!) will dare to lock up his wife if she didn't like what he had comissioned.

If the guy had any sense he would have included the wife in the planning/concept stage itself.trishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02896403156237442180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15827537.post-1136363732750272522006-01-04T14:05:00.000+05:302006-01-04T14:05:00.000+05:30wow love the photos - did u take them - will come ...wow love the photos - did u take them - will come back n read ;)Visithrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14525994382867482657noreply@blogger.com
