The Stranger...

@KL airport, 2007

Everyday I see a stranger
He looks the same as I
He stares at me like danger
when I try to meet his eye.
Even though I do meet him
    Morning, noon and night
But still the fellow stays grim
    An enigma lost in light.
I wish I knew him better,
    What he thinks and why?
Does he blog and twitter?
    Does he laugh and cry?
Whose world is real I ask?
    Whose life- His or mine?
Who lives behind the mask?
Can we swap across the line?
Everyday I see this stranger
who looks the same as I
I see him in every mirror
    But reflections can also lie…

Great atmosphere. I guess that every stranger is a person just like you and me...

  3. Hi,

Beautiful self expression. The stranger in the mirror can teach us a lot provided we are willing to learn and change looking at him every day. Mostly we ignore him and don't change and therein lies our predicament. Lovely self assessment. I enjoyed it.

    Best wishes,
    Jospeh

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO I AM, NOR I YOU, BUT I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT YOU ARE AN AMAZINGLY TALENTED POET. THIS PROBABLY HAS NO MEANIG OR IMPORTANCE TO YOU. I AM JUST ONE OF THE MANY ANONYMOUS PEOPLE YOU WILL NEVER MEET, JUST ONE OF THE FACES PASSING BY, YET I SOMEHOW FEEL COMPELLED TO SAY HOW TALENTED THIS WRITING IS.EVEN THOUGH I AM ONLY 13, IN 8TH GRADE, AND TRYING TO SURVIVE THE STEREOTYPE OF MY GENERATION, I HAVE LEARNED THAT SOMETIMES AN UNKNOWN FIGURE CAN JUST REACH OUT AND TOUCH YOU. WHETHER IT IS AN ANONYMOUS LETTER TO EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF A SONG,OR THE FACE OF A SAD, TROUBLED STRANGER PASSING BY IN A WHEELCHAIR THAT YOU SMILED AT, CAUSING THEIR FACE TO LIGHT UP BECAUSE THEY WERE NOTICED FOR ONCE, INSTEAD OF BEING PUSHED TO THE SIDELINES.YET IT COULD BE A RANDOM PERSON WHO ASKED FOR A COUPLE JELLY DOUGHNUTS IN LINE WHO THEN GAVE ONE TO HIS FRIEND- A BLIND MAN AT A PLACE WHERE I HELPED OUT GIVING FOOD TO HOMELESS PEOPLE FOR 1 WEEK. YOU MIGHT NOT EVER READ THIS, AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER SEE ME, AND IF YOU DO, YOU WON'T KNOW ME OR ME YOU, BUT I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT AN AMAZING WRITER YOU ARE, AND HOPE THAT THIS MIGHT JUST MAYBE INSPIRE YOU TO DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN YOUR BLOG AND READ POEMS OF YOURS, AND I HAVE READ MANY, BUT SOME OF THESE ARE AS GOOD AS ONES IN PUBLISHED BOOKS. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND KEEP WRITING, YOU HAVE TALENT.
