Orphaned Dreams...

Fear - Poster Color - Art by Ashok (1995)
The tiring drive-
The endless road.
As reflections strive-
A cerebral load

The Frozen eyes
in despair stare;
Betrayed by Lies
Beyond repair.

Over reddened sand
the tyrants dance.
The martyr’s land
Yearns eternal trance.

As Darkness shrouds-
The silence screams.
Like wandering clouds-
Orphaned dreams.

(Written on the background of the Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka)

  3. This, like all of your writing, moves me greatly. You are truly gifted.

  4. Your gifts have a wide range...your art and poetry all amazing. I cannot bring myself to watch the video, but I did read a little about the civil war and I am happy it DID end. It is deeply deeply sad to think about what humans do to each other. Your art captures well the entrapment, the fear, the sadness, the darkness.

  9. I tried watching the video. Couldn't get through it. I love the way you have honored the victims of this war. Somehow what you write and paint, gets straight to the heart, without all the details. I know your heart is big and giving. Thank you Ahsok.

  15. I did view the very disturbing video. So much sadness, so much violence. You have used your art to thoughtfully and lyrically interpret humanity at its worst.

  28. It is so hard to read this post and the background post. Tough times and looks like no big change in sight...? So depressing and sad.
And the painting in so apt for the words and setting!

  30. There is no redeeming factor in any of this, very disheartening. The endless road beyond repair, the tyrants dance and the silent screams, captures it very well. Sickening how the human race abandons its own heart. Thankful for a bit of light in your photo.
