Raja's album 1946 - Part 06 : Kyoto

The album has Raja's lovely collection of colorized pictures of Kyoto city issued by the Japan travel bureau. Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is a city on the island of Honshu. It's famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses. If I ever travel to Japan, this is one city I should not miss...

  4. I am very impressed about how the color held up after so many years. It must have been very good printing and then being in a closed book protecting it from the light. These are your most gorgeous yet. Kyoto is a wonderful city -- and these show them off well.

  11. Beautiful vintage photos of Kyoto.
I was there in 2019 and it was a lovely, friendly place. Will always remember Gion and Arashiyama. :)
