Any trip to Hoganekkal is incomplete without a ride down river Caveri on a Parisal. Nothing has changed here from my last trip in 2007. It was disheartening to see the beautiful river littered with plastic and beer bottles. Tourists, especially youngsters, need more sensitivity. Tourism department also should wakeup and make the place more organized in terms of parking facilities, pollution control, hygiene and toilet facilities. I remember writing the same in my 2007 post.
Beautiful photos, without a doubt the walk is very rewarding, a shame that we are like that with nature and do not take care of it but that is worldwide, we have to be very aware of it.
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
Amazing photos Ash!!! It’s SO sad to see our beautiful Country ruined by a few careless people. I hope something is done to clean it up. Beautiful photography as always and I love the fish on your last post...the fresh fried fish was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThat is intense water! The waterfalls are so spectacular. These are really very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOoohhhh this looks like so much fun. It is a beautiful place. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shots, and it makes me feel nostalgic. Hogenakkal doesn't look much different from my visit in 1997, except for the town like development and crowded now.
ReplyDeleteLooks fun tourists must take care of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteYour first pix of the family in the round boat is very interesting. It looked like a huge rattan or jute tray going for a ride. The boat looks exactly like one I have at home to dry my cooking ingredients - only a thousand times larger!
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures !!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous !!!!
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the photos. Tourism here in our mountain resorts is a problem because of the trash they leave all over with no regard to nature. It's a continuing problem and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it.
ReplyDeleteBeen awhile since I've been here so enjoying catching up.
I'm sorry I haven't kept up on your posts. This place seems amazing, and the round boats seem so utterly impractical at first until I visualize how leisurely the floating along must be. Beautiful photos. I can see why you love this place.
