Farewell Hilda...

I am heartbroken to hear about the passing away of one of my oldest friends in the blog world - Hilda Muxo Kilnger.  I came to know Hilda through her blog "pastels" and greatly admired her painting skills and her exuberant personality. She mostly enjoyed painting portraits, evident from the volume of works on display in her blog. Over the years we developed a great friendship and appreciation of each others art. When I was working on Ashokism50 -my 'poetry+art' book, Hilda had graciously sent me her testimonial on my works. And she was the first person outside India to buy my book online and excitedly sent me her wishes on receiving it.

I will miss you Hilda...May your soul rest in peace my dear friend.

Ceramic Miniatures

40 years old ceramic miniature set

20 years old ceramic miniatures

These Cute Ceramic miniatures adorn my showcase shelf. The set of animal figurines on top were gifted by a relative almost four decades ago. Few have broken over time and these are the surviving few.

The fairytale figurines at the bottom were mostly gifts received almost two decades ago.

Vintage London -100 years ago!

These are few vintage photographs of London that one of my grandmas ( Chella aachi) had passed on to me from her collections. Iam not able to exactly figure out the time line..but my guess is, it could be from around the 1920s. I was lucky to see all these locations when I visited the UK in 2013 and London remains one of my most favorite international cities around the world.

Dubble Yum

Dubble Yum from NP, was a bubble gum that was popular for a very short period during the 80s. Not sure how many remember this chewing gum that lost out to Bigfun that became a huge hit. Dubble yum inside collectable wrappers had scientific titbit information as compared to Bigfun that had puzzles and  cricket stars on its wrappers. Probably the reason why Dubble yum lost out.

Few Collectable wrappers from my collection

Another wrappers which I do not remember from where...
