Vintage toy - The Matchbox 44 Passenger coach

This vintage 1978 passanger coach was one of my favourite toys from my toddler days. Probably gifted by a relative who visited us from abroad, this single coach has somehow survived for the past four decades and sits cutely in my showcase. The toy was made by Lesney productions,England under the brand name " Matchbox ". This series was called the Superfast with some amazingly smooth wheels in competition to Hotwheels.

  1. if you still have the box it's probably worth a fair bit of money, but a nice iconic piece to keep :)

  3. That's amazing you still have these. I have absolutely nothing from my childhood but a handful of photographs.

  4. There are toys that accompany us a big part of our Ashok life and then pass on to our children.
I wish you were fully recovered.
    Happy week.
    Best regards.

  5. They sure don't make toys like they use too. This is really very nice and I am glad you still have it. I hope you are feeling much better too.

    1. Thanks DV...yes, its hard to find such toys nowadays. Most of them nowadays are too expensive or cheap Chinese ones that don't last.

  7. Enjoyed seeing your little passenger coach from your toddler years. I have things from my childhood, worn out but loved, that have survived the times I have declutter throughout my many years. I've been away from your blog with my own interferences in life, and was saddened to read of your covid experience. Heartfelt wishes are being sent your way that each day may see you better and better. Take care.
