Afghan memories...

As Kabul falls today to Taliban, my memories go back to my days spent in Afghanistan (2004-06) in the rebuilding efforts after the war. My heart goes out to the beautiful Afghan people known for their love for Hindustan! 

Two of the most important projects for the US army corps I was involved were the KMTC (Kabul military training centre) & MEPS (military entry processing station). These were campuses to recruit and train afghan soldiers by the US. The way the afghan government military surrendered without a fight leaves me wondering - was it worth it all and what training really happened here?

Geopolitics is more complicated than we imagine..especially when it comes to Afghanistan.
