WorldCup Bubblegum cards 1990

The year was 1990. It was the year of the FIFA worldcup to be held in Italy. Me and my brother were busy collecting the footballer cards that came along with the 'Worldcup bubblegum'. As the event drew closer, the craze and the demand for these cards sky rocketed! As the event progressed and footballers like Italy's Schillaci and Cameroon's Roger Milla emerged as stars, the demand for their cards surpassed traditional favorites like Maradona.Hosts Italy and reigning champs Argentina started as favorites. In the end the cold West Germans prevailed over our favorites Argentina in the finals. Maradona left the field in tears! The memories of Italia 90 are frozen in this collection for me!

  13. This is pretty neat. My husband attended the World Cup in Texas in 1994 Netherlands vs Brazil. It is a very happy memory for him and he still has a cap the a very disappointed Dutchman gave him.
