Casa Mila by Gaudí

My next discovery on further walking was Probably Gaudi's last private residence design - the Casa Mila also known as La Pedrera ( the stone quarry) . Built between 1906 to 1912, the building has its Gaudí stamp of an unconventional rough facade with twisted wrought iron balcony railings and a wavy terrace roof line. Its quite interesting that what was once the ridicule of the city is today the one that draws people from around the globe.

The Torron or Turron shop in the Casa Mila was quite inviting. The Spanish sales girls offered tasty samples at the shop front and made sure we bought some. Torrons are traditional Mediterranean nougat confectionery made from honey, sugar and egg white. They come in many types depending on the nuts and chocolate flavors.
