A very difficult task to limit to 9 of my favorite songs from my younger days...But finally here is the list in random order. What is your favorite ?
1. Still got the Blues - Gary Moore
2. Still Loving you - The Scorpions
2. Still Loving you - The Scorpions
3. Careless Whispers - George Michael
5. Hotel California - Eagles
6. Smoke on the water - Deep Purple
7. Smooth - Santana with Rob Thomas
9. Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull
Santana is just classic, especially the guitar work. Eagles I think is almost everyone's favourite and Deep Purple made my mum turn purple when we kids listened to them rocking. She said it was just noise. They won the Legend Award in 2008.
ReplyDeleteYes :) deep purple had that impact on parents! Iam not surprised your mom turning purple :)
DeleteThese are all wonderful, with happy memories of times past! Valerie
ReplyDeleteGood mselection, good musical taste.
ReplyDeleteBest regards.
That's a nice variety of music!
ReplyDeleteI am too old to know these but enjoyed listening and I could see how you have been influenced by this music.

DeleteGreat musical choices ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Now those take me back:)
ReplyDeleteI always liked Hotel California by the Eagles but my tastes in music were more for classical, opera. My father's influence as he played the piano and we would sing together from as far back as I can remember. I like that music is universal.
ReplyDeleteYes Denise..Classical music is indeed universal.Glad to hear your dad played classical music!
DeleteI haven't thought of a lot of these in ages. I always liked the Eagles and Jethro Tull and Clapton is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice Jean!
DeleteWhen I was younger I used to listen Dire Staits, Santana and Jethro Tull. I always like them!
ReplyDeleteIt seems the Eagles song "Hotel California" shares the same chord sequence as well as the lead vocal melody as we see in Jethro Tull song “We Use to Know”. Isn't it?
I means Hotel California was based on a Jethro Tull song.
Nice post, Ashok!
You had great taste Giorgio! Oh yes, "we used to know" is the inspiration for Hotel C . chord progression is the same but the experience/ expression of both songs are different. I like them both!
DeleteTrue! They are both great songs.
DeleteA great collection of songs.
ReplyDeleteI love George Michael
ReplyDeleteAll of these songs I enjoyed hearing for many years. Hard to pick a favorite but if I had to it would be Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath for the simple reason I heard it when it first came out on his Aqualung album. I still listen and love that album. :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGood to know that u like Locomotive breath too Bill :) have a great day!
DeleteBonsoir,
ReplyDeleteJe ne pense pas être la seule à aimer l'ensemble de vos choix...
Bises,
Merci beaucoup martine. Je suis heureux de savoir que vous aimez ma liste aussi
DeleteBY far the Eagles. Although I love all those you posted. I saw a tribute band called "Desparado" in a nearby town over the summer. I couldn't believe how much they sounded like the Eagles. I hope to hear them again next summer when Redlands has their summer bowl series.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting to know about the desperado Sandy. Must be a great band if they sound like the Eagles!
DeleteYes they are on Youtube I think. Seeing them in an open bowl with perfect temps at night and the smells in the air all of that combined made it a great experience. I so love your book ..can't say it enough.
