Today is the birth anniversary of the revolutionary Tamil Poet Subramania Barathi ( 1882 - 1921). "Mahakavi Barathiyar" as he was popularly called, was a fearless freedom fighter who also fought for the emancipation of women and stood for many social reforms. He died young at the age of 38.
